Overview of the event
The purpose of the International Seminar of the Association for the Reintegration of Asian Human Resources is to promote information sharing and exchange with institutions and educational and research organisations on the labour and retention of Vietnamese human resources and to think, discuss, collaborate, and cooperate, with the aim of considering the employment and significance of foreign human resources in Asia and Japan. The global covid-19 pandemic beginning in 2020 has reminded us of how important it is to build country to country and people-to-people relationships. Against this background, the seminar will provide an opportunity for stakeholders in Japanese language education to gather and discuss how new relationships can be built for the future employment and retention of foreigners in Vietnam and Japan.
・Developing human resources and sharing issues that contribute to the promotion of cooperation and
collaboration between Japan and Vietnam.
・Sharing knowledge and information on the educational and working environments in Japan and Vietnam.
・Discussing policies for future cooperation between Japan and Vietnam.
・Setting the agenda for building organic relations between Japan and Vietnam.
Many companies in Japan are promoting the employment of
Vietnamese and, at the same time, see Vietnam as an attractive market. On the other hand, Vietnam is now trying to achieve sustainable development in cooperation with other Asian and overseas
countries. Therefore, the role of research and educational institutions in developing the excellent Japanese language personnel required in both countries will become increasingly important.
In recent years, Japanese language education has been shifting from education aimed at merely acquiring linguistic knowledge to one that emphasises 'social practical ability' and 'learner expertise.' These refer to the abilities of learners to survive in a global society through learning from each other and building relationships with others from different cultural backgrounds. In particular, the situation is still insufficient regarding the awareness of those involved in Japanese language education with a focus on the state of education for Vietnamese, whose Japanese language human resources are rapidly increasing. Another critical issue is training Vietnamese Japanese language teachers who are directly involved in Japanese language education.
In this seminar, we set out the challenges of such educational transformation and teacher training and provide a forum for those involved in Japanese language education in Japan and Vietnam, as well as those involved in companies and businesses that employ Japanese language personnel, to have a shared understanding and discuss the future-oriented Japanese language human resources development.
